Guy Wolff

America's Master Potter

Guy Wolff has been making traditional pottery for over 30 years. His love for the old pots grew from training in potteries that had hundred-years-old 'family memories' of traditional pottery. Returning to Connecticut after stints in North Carolina, Wales and the North of England, Guy has kept alive the best traditions of 18th and 19th century pottery for the garden, at times blending contemporary designs with traditional forms.

Guy’s work is in the collections of many prestigious estates and homes, including Monticello, the New York Botanical Gardens, the Atlanta History Museum, the Japanese Folk Museum, the Connecticut Historical Society, and the White House. He has also been featured in numerous publications including the New York Times, Horticulture Magazine, and Martha Stewart Living.

Guy’s studio is located in a small barn, 7 miles southwest of Litchfield, CT, on Route 202.  His studio is open every weekend, by appointment or by chance.  He welcomes visitors, and always has a nice selection of pots.

Since the space is small and Guy works by himself, the production directly from Guy’s hands is very limited, and highly sought after by collectors and estates. Every pot Guy makes is sold from his studio or sold directly to estate customers or collectors.
